In grammar the term "letter" refers to a written symbol that represents a sound in a language.

How many letters are there in the English language?

The modern English alphabet has 26 letters:
Each letter has a lowercase and an uppercase form.

Uppercase (Capital Letters): A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z.

Lowercase (Small Letters): a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z.

An alphabet is a set of letters usually presented in a fixed order which is used for writing the words of a particular language or group of languages.

How many letters are there in the English language?

The alphabet in English refers to the set of 26 letters that make up the basic building blocks of the English language. 

Capital and Small letters

The English alphabet is based on the Latin alphabet and consists of the following letters:, Each letter has an uppercase ("capital letter: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z. ") and a lowercase ("small letter: a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, and z.") form. These letters are used to spell out words and create written language. The alphabet is an important aspect of English grammar, as it forms the basis for spelling, pronunciation, and vocabulary building.

What is the vowels?

What is the digraphs?

A digraph is two letters combined to make a single sound in written or spoken English. Written English includes the digraphs: ch ci ck gh ng ph qu rh sc sh th ti wh wr zh. These are not considered separate letters of the alphabet.

In which script is the English language written?
